The knife N°08 Ellipse has been imagined in our cabinetmaking workshop.
The raw and matt ebony is sublimated by a sheet of aluminum that highlights and illuminates the curve of the handle. This handle is oiled. To revive the intensity of the wood, it is advisable to feed it with a clean cloth lightly moistened with cooking oil.
FEATURES
Ebony is a rare and luxurious wood coming from the forests of Africa. Thanks to its beautiful density and deep black color, ebony is traditionally used in marquetry. The handle incorporates an aluminum foil that emphasizes its shape. This handle is oiled to revive the intensity of the wood.
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
SPECIFICATIONS
Blade Length 8.5cm
We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.Blade hardness 57-58 HRC
